A Sister's Hope events in southeast Missouri, Chicago and western Michigan have contributed an additional $38,000 to the prestigious work of Dr. Seema Khan, Lurie Cancer Center, Chicago, IL. That makes a total of $50,000 Oct. 30, 2010-Oct. 30, 2011.

The funds were awarded to Dr. Khan on November 14 at Northwestern University Hospital where the comprehensive cancer center is located. A synopsis of her work can be found on the A Sister's Hope website on the beneficiary page. Thank you to the participants of Take a Swing at Breast Cancer-Chicago (Sept. 12), MPLI Golf Tourney (August in South Haven, MI), Pink Moon Run & Walk 8K-Jackson, MO (Oct. 29), and USA walkers of the Holland 60K (Oct. 8-9).

Presenting sponsor Southeast Missouri Hospital, and supporting sponsors Southeast SportsCare and Plaza Tire Service helped make these actions possible.

Pink Moon-Jackson (USA) raises $12,000 for research

The first annual Pink Moon Run & Walk 8k event took place October 30 in Jackson, Missouri (USA), drawing participants from 16 surrounding cities and from as far away as Memphis, Tennessee, and Marion, Illinois. A $12,000 check was presented to Dr. Seema Khan, Lurie Cancer Center, Chicago, IL, on November 29 at Northwestern University Hospital where the comprehensive cancer center is located. Dr. Khan's research focuses on early detection and a synopsis of her work can be found on the A Sister's Hope website on the beneficiary page. Dutch Minister of Health, Welfare & Sport joins A Sister's Hope in opening NYSE Euronext October 5

Ringing in Breast Cancer Month and opening the NYSE Euronext the morning of Oct. 5 was Dutch Minister Ab Klink, the founders of A Sister's Hope, its Olympic ambassadors Cees Vervoorn and Olga Commandeur, breast cancer researchers Sabine Linn, Paul van Diest and Prof. Dr. Elsken van der Wall, A Sister's Hope walkers, crew and board of directors.:www.ASistersHope.nl.

USE OF A SISTER'S HOPE LOGO

The Stichting A Sisters’ Hope logo is not to be used in merchandising, to meet participants’ fundraising minimum or for commercial purposes. The logo is internationally trademarked by A Sister’s Hope and can be used only by A Sister’s Hope for selling merchandise that bears the logo. Participants who want to sell items and let their buyers know that the proceeds will go to their fundraising minimum for A Sister’s Hope events can let buyers know this by attaching a card that bears A Sister’s Hope logo to the item. Anyone with questions regarding this should contact the Sister’s Hope staff at Info@ASistersHope.org.

Nike Ladies Run & Oxxio Prestatie Loop

Eight runners and eight volunteers proudly represented A Sister's Hope at the annual Nike Ladies Run in Hilversum, The Netherlands on April 6. This marks the second year A Sister's Hope has had a team in the fun run. Volunteers distributed Sister's Hope flyers all afternoon to spectators.
